Sayalonga Village

Sayalonga is a typical attractive whitewashed village with narrow winding streets, which branch out into narrow valleys. There is an old fountain, "del Cid", and another two, more modern ones alongside tiny pubs and typical market squares attracting both young and old, being surrounded by Jacaranda trees and the general hustle and bustle of everyday life, lights up this typical village.

Farmers riding their mules, goatherds making their way to the fields, all add to the charm and colourfulness of this Andalusia village. Situated 41 kilometres east of Malaga and just 9 kilometres from the coast at Algarrobo Costa. It lies within the area of Axarquia, on the scenic Route of Sun and Wine, at an altitude of 355 metres and has a population of 1,200.

The village of Sayalonga provides a good infrastructure with bus connections. You will find all the shops that you need for everyday life, including chemist, bank, doctors surgery and post-office, there is also a daily produce market offering fresh picked fruit and vegetables from local growers.

The inhabitants of Sayalonga are very open minded, as are all people in Andalucia, who value good friendship and neighbourhood.
